Who are the main characters?

Eshmel is the customizable true protagonist. Fortuna sends Eshmel back from ruined Dagda in 1454 to alter the 1449 fates of four Heroic Games contenders: Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda.

You can guide only one hero at a time, but the August Direct says progress is retained and stories can be switched between matches. This is not currently presented as a one-route lock.

How to read the evidence labels

  • Official: directly described on Nintendo’s game page, Direct or official recap.
  • Official summary: profile information published through Nintendo’s official Japanese or Nintendo Today channels and summarized by attributed specialist outlets.
  • Frame-confirmed: readable in official footage, but not yet described in an English profile.
  • Unconfirmed: theory or inference; this tracker currently excludes purely speculative names.

What the roster does not prove yet

Appearing in a trailer does not automatically make a character recruitable. Nintendo has confirmed recruiting as a system, but it has not released a complete playable roster, recruitment conditions or route exclusivity rules. Nathan and Creek are therefore listed as opponents even though footage may show units changing contexts.
